Impacts of the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami

This resource focuses on the impacts of the 2004 Boxing Day or Indian Ocean tsunami. Students are given a number of statements showing different effects of the tsunami, they must categorise these effects into economic, environmental, or social. They could then go on to consider their immediate and long-term impacts. Finally they are encourged to look for any patterns identified in the impacts faced. Teaching notes with information about tsunamis are included to offer further guidance.
