How can I use fieldwork data on rivers?
This resource focuses on the depth and velocity of water across a meander river feature. It is a geography skills based activity for GCSE level students. The resource asks students to use the supplied data to draw a cross section of a river meander and graphically present the velocity of the water. They should then analyse and evaluate their results and comment on how the velocity varies across the meander and why.
Teaching notes and guidance notes are provided and a selection of extension tasks to challenge more able students.
